PERMIT REQUIRED CONFINED SPACE (CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY)
COURSE OVERVIEW
This course provides a basic of the standards for Confined Spaces in Construction, 29 CFR 1926, Subpart AA. It covers:
- Identification of confined spaces.
- The differences between permit and non-permit spaces.
- Confined space hazard identification.
- Permit requirements and responsibilities for all permit-required Confined Space participants (Entrant, Attendant and Entry Supervisor).
INTENDED AUDIENCE
Company supervisors and managers; any Safety/Health employees; any workers responsible for implementing a permit-required confined space entry program; all personnel expected to work in and around a permit-required confined space.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon successful completion of this course each student will:
- Have a basic understanding of the regulatory requirements and potential safety and health hazards associated with permit-required confined spaces.
- Learn how to protect those entering or working around a confined space.
- Understand the basic responsibilities as a Confined Space Entrant / Attendant / Supervisor.
