PERMIT REQUIRED CONFINED SPACE (GENERAL INDUSTRY)
COURSE OVERVIEW
This course provides a basic overview of 29 CFR 1910 Subpart E (for General Industry).
Main topics covered:
- Regulatory requirements.
- Potential safety and health hazards associated with Permit-Required Confined Spaces.
- Basic responsibilities as a Confined Space Entrant / Attendant / Supervisor.
INTENDED AUDIENCE
Company supervisors and managers; any Safety/Health employees; any workers responsible for implementing a permit-required confined space entry program; all personnel expected to work in and around a permit-required confined space.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon successful completion of this course each student will:
- Learn the physical, chemical, and biological principles related to safely working in and around confined spaces.
- Have a basic understanding of regulatory requirements including exit routes, means of egress, coverage, design requirements, operational features, emergency action plans and fire prevention plans.
- Learn how to protect those entering or working around a confined space
